JOPECURO
I judge design for Awwwards and Orpetron. The rest of the time, I make it.
José Rocha — creative director, designer and teacher. I build identities, interfaces and campaigns that hold up under scrutiny, because scrutiny is my other job.
Design that survives
the second look.
Anyone can make something that looks good in a screenshot. I care about the work that still holds up when a jury slows it down frame by frame — and when a client has to live with it for years.
I direct brands end to end: strategy, identity, interface, campaign. I write the concept, draw the system, build the front end, and hand over something a team can actually run without me in the room.
That range is deliberate. Four degrees across design, UX, marketing and e-commerce, plus a teaching habit that forces me to justify every decision out loud, in front of people who ask why.
Judging for Awwwards and Orpetron taught me the difference between a site that impresses for ten seconds and one that earns a second visit. I build for the second one.

Four juries have judged
my work. I now sit
on two of them.
Four projects,
four different problems.
What I actually
get hired for.
- C01
Creative direction
Owning the idea from the first brief to the last export, and defending it in the room.
- C02
Brand identity
Marks, type systems and guidelines a team can hold to once I'm gone.
- C03
UI / UX design
Interfaces built around the task the person came to do, not around the tour.
- C04
Web design
Sites designed to be used every day, not just to be launched once.
- C05
Front-end
I hand over working code, not a picture of a website for someone else to guess at.
- C06
Digital & campaign
Motion, social, product and print assets that stay recognisably one brand.
